Enhancing the reliability of operators because… 

safety is paramount.

Have you ever heard of fretting corrosion? This is when, for example, an electrical connector has been damaged during the manual assembly of a car. Yes, an electrical quality test was conducted at the end of the assembly line to ensure that the connectors were properly installed. Still, this test failed to reveal the problem. The true test was the vibrations that naturally occur while driving on the road. These vibrations managed to damage the surface treatment of the electric pin, creating a dangerous friction. A costly investigation at the manufacturing plant revealed that the operator who assembled the electrical connector applied too much pressure on the pin, damaging it in the process. Had the operator received immediate feedback at time of assembly, this problem could have been avoided.

When the electrical continuity test operator registers a failed signal at the end of the automotive assembly line, they know that the assembly line will be shut down while the vehicle is removed.
